Academic Advising
While it still maybe early in the year, it's never too late to learn how and where to receive academic advising! Whether you need assistance in adding a minor, transferring majors, creating a four year plan, or general advice on academics, navigate to:

OASA (UCLA Samueli Office of Academic and Student Affairs) for engineering-related advising &
CAAC (Center for Academic Advising in the College) for all non-engineering/science needs.

If you need specific advising for your major or minors, make sure to contact your academic departments directly!

Research Portal
Want to get into research? A great place to start is the Undergraduate Research Portal! You can find numerous projects in both the STEM and humanities fields, and see if they have paid positions, give out academic credit, or are volunteer work. If you want need more advice on finding research, try out the Undergraduate Research Center! They have a page on Finding a Project and Mentor and offer Workshops year round.

Need to get around LA County and don't have a car? Beginning this quarter, you can get your own free Bruin U-Pass! UCLA undergrads get unlimited access to the 7 transit agencies serving the UCLA campus and even more transit lines not serving the campus.

UCLA CAPS
If you are ever in need of any help or are struggling with your mental health, CAPS resources are available to all UCLA students.

Crisis counseling is available 24/7 and can be reached at (310)825-0768. More emergency resources can be found through this link CAPS | Emergency Services.

AtkinsRéalis Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is available to female students as well as students of African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American/ Native Alaskan, and Native Hawaiian/ Pacific Islander descent, who are pursuing STEM degrees in relation to natural disaster response (i.e. Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, etc.). A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required and should be maintained throughout each term

BHW Scholarship
This scholarship of open to women who are actively pursuing degrees in STEM fields during the 2024 school year. Applicants will be required to write a 500-800 word essay in response to either of the two following topics:
1. Tell us about your favorite app and what you like about it.
2. Tell us about a time an app played a significant role in improving your day.
(app being any mobile of web-based application)

Against the Grain Groundbreaker Leadership Scholarship
This scholarship is open to Asian American college seniors and graduate students who have "exhibited exemplary leadership, vision, and passion that is blazing a trail for others to follow and changing lives in the Asian American community." It is open to all majors and you must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. All candidates must submit a video showcasing how they have impacted their communities and provide their qualifications

All you need to be is a student enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States (which you definitely are!!).

UCLA Scholarship Center (CSSE)
If you want to search for more scholarships funded by UCLA, visit the UCLA Scholarship Research Center! They link the different departments across campus that have scholarships available.
The Center provides workshops Weeks 2-10 throughout the school year on how to apply for scholarships, draft personal statements, etc. Schedule and RSVP for a workshop here.
Additionally, they offer individual counseling to help with searching for scholarships and 1:1 writing appointments to assist with personal statements and essays.
